Over the past year, I’ve been exploring how textiles can move, breathe, and come alive. My latest work focuses on wet-felted, handmade mobiles that respond to even the gentlest currents of air. These pieces have been an opportunity to push the boundaries of what fiber can do, transforming it from something static into dynamic, kinetic forms.
What excites me most is how movement changes everything. On a wall, wool might feel predictable, even flat, but when suspended and set in motion, unexpected textures, shifting colors, and playful interactions with light are revealed. The process of creating these mobiles has been a joyful study in balance, rhythm, and flow.
I’m thrilled to share that this work will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at CAW in Santa Barbara, where I’ll be showing 10-15 of my newest pieces. Seeing them together in one space will be a celebration of this journey and an invitation to experience textiles in a whole new way. Stay tuned … details are coming!
